Some extra support.

The Qube offers several support and discussion groups meeting a wide variety of needs for several different populations on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis.

All groups are drop-in/drop-out with no prior need for registering or signing up, and you may join or leave as you please. All groups are also confidential and feature competent facilitators who can ensure support and guide meaningful discussion and conversation.

Open Door

A discussion and support group for LGBTQIA+ students of any background or identity. This group is the first The Qube and LGBTQIA+ Program Office offered, and serves as a broad opportunity to discuss the wide variety of issues and experiences that affect the LGBTQIA+ community. Other, more specific, groups have been added in recent years, which can be found below.

Open Door is meeting virtually on Monday nights. Check out our events page for a full listing of meeting times.

Afternoon T

One of the more focused groups that The Qube offers, Afternoon T is specifically for students who identify as transgender, genderqueer, nonbinary, genderfluid, agender, or any other gender expansive identity, or are currently questioning their gender. This group provides a specific opportunity in an all-trans and gender expansive space to discuss experiences and issues of transness, dysphoria, gender theory, and much more.

Afternoon T is meeting virtually every other week on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Check out our events page for a full listing of meeting times.

Our other focused group opportunity is for queer and trans-identifying people of color*. In this space, there is an opportunity to have discussion surrounding experiences at the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality.

QTPOC will meet approximately every other week to twice a month. Fall 2020 dates and times can be found on our events page when they are determined.

*Because of limited opportunities to have spaces be entirely safe for people of color, POC straight and cisgender LGBTQIA+ allies are welcome to attend this group, pending the attending members consent to it. White queer and trans individuals are asked to not attend this group as POC allies out of respect for this opportunity that students of color have. For other opportunities to be an ally to queer and trans people of color, please contact The Qube directly and/or contact Multicultural Student Services for more information.
