the loop
JANUARY 13, 2021
Hi First_Name!
We hope everyone is having a good winter break! To ensure your org gets off to a great start this spring semester, read up on important reminders below. Pay special attention to a new upcoming workshop we have planned for starting off strong!
Submit your Annual Budget
The annual budget period is still open for student orgs to apply! These are funds for the 2021-22 academic year. Learn more about applying for SSA funding on our CONNECT website.
We still have some meeting space available for those weekly/bi-weekly meetings for spring semester! Space is limited and reservation requests are taken on a first come, first served basis. Get your blanket request in asap!
Please continue to register every event/activity/meeting for your student org. It's important to work on this over winter break so that new and returning students can find your events on CONNECT and get involved. The event registration process can take time so make sure you get ahead! *All event guidelines currently remain the same for spring!
Campus is now accepting nominations for the annual Leadership Awards! An announcement was sent earlier this week with further details. As a reminder, orgs can choose to self-nominate or nominate others for awards.
Reminder | Apply for the Samuel E. Wood Medallion Award
Are you a senior graduating in Spring of 2021 or Fall of 2021? If so, then apply for the Samuel E. Wood Medallion Award. This is the highest non-academic award given to students at Stout who have positively impacted the campus. Applicants will be notified of their selection in March/April and recipients will be honored during the Leadership Awards.
Application Deadline: Monday, March 1st at 11:59pm.
As we move into Spring semester, many of your org operations will continue to look different. If you’re a new or returning officer, join us for an overview of the COVID student org guidelines and the mandatory event registration process. We will also answer your questions and highlight CONNECT tools that will make org and event management a breeze. This workshop is ideal for Presidents, Recruitment Officers, and anyone responsible for planning events within your organization.
The Student Centers is hiring for a variety of positions. We know our student org leaders also make great student employees! As one of the best places to work on campus, we offer flexible schedules and a great chance to gain management experience.
While we will not be able to provide a traditional Involvement Fair this spring as we have in the past, there are still plenty of opportunities to recruit. Consider doing some of the following!
Host Information Sessions (Virtual or In-Person)
Get your events in CONNECT!
Design & Distribute Recruitment Posters
Utilize Digital Signage on campus
Ask for a few minutes of class time for your org's elevator speech
Have a social media presence
Our office will also be doing our own work to highlight joining student orgs.
