Academic Buildings & Classrooms

The academic buildings on our campus offer a variety of spaces for your next event. Below is a list of academic buildings available to reserve a space.

  • Harvey Hall
  • Heritage Hall
  • Jarvis Hall (Science Wing, Tech Wing, and Science Addition)

Making a Reservation

To make a reservation for an academic building, email classrooms@uwstout.edu and include the following information.

  1. Name of the event and your Student Organization
  2. The building and specific room you would like (if applicable)
  3. The date(s) and time(s) you need the space for
  4. Number of seats you need for your event

Wait for Confirmation

Academic buildings and classrooms give first priority to courses and academic events. Because of this, student organization requests will not be considered until the first week of the semester.

Once the reservation request is received, you will receive a confirmation in your email. However, if the request cannot be confirmed, you'll receive an email with another room option that matches your needs.

After-Hours Request Form

Academic Buildings have set hours that they are open. You can view the academic buildings hours here.

If you'd like to use an academic building space outside of open hours or on the weekends, you can complete the After-Hours Request Form. You can find that form here.

 
 
 
 
 

Student Center Spaces

Reserve a space in the Memorial Student Center or in Merle Price Commons. Both buildings feature spaces that are perfect for your upcoming meetings or your events. Whether you need a meeting room, a stage, or a table for a bake sale, the student centers will have a space for you.

If you have any questions regarding reservations in the Memorial Student Center or Price Commons, please email the MSC Reservations office or Ben Markl

One-Time Event Reservations

If you need a Student Center Space for a one-time event, email mscreservations@uwstout.edu.

When making a request, be sure that you have the following information ready and written in your email.

1. Name of the event and your student organization/department

2. The specific space you would like to reserve (if applicable)

3. The date(s) and time(s) you will need the space for your event

4. The number of seats you expect to need

Routine Event & Meeting Room Reservations

If your student organization hosts routine events that occur every week or bi-weekly, you can simplify the process by completing a blanket request. Every student organization can make two blanket requests each semester.

  • Note that blanket requests are confirmed on a first-come first-serve basis
  • Also note that your blanket requests can only come from 1 student organization officer to minimize duplicate submissions.

Tabling, Chalking, and Display Cases

Advertise your student organization and activities through the Student Centers with display cases, tabling, and chalking sites!

To make a reservation for these spaces, please email mscreservations@uwstout.edu

When making a reservation, please including the information below:

1. Name of your organization/department
2. What specific space you would like to reserve
3. Include the date(s) and time(s) you would like to reserve the spaces.

Outdoor Spaces

Host your events out in the sun in an outdoor space. These spaces offer your event lots of room for a variety of events!

Outdoor areas include:

  • Memorial Student Center Amphitheater
  • Memorial Student Center Plaza
  • South Lawn (in front of the Applied Arts Buildings)
  • Merle Prize Commons Plaza
  • Clock Tower Plaza

If you'd like to reserve an outdoor space, email mscreservations@uwstout.edu

Be sure to include the following information:

1. Name of your event and student organization/department
2. The specific space you would like to reserve (if applicable)
3. The date(s) and time(s) you will need the space for your event
4. Any seats or table you'd like to request (if applicable)

University Library Spaces

The Robert L. Swanson Library and Learning Center offers several open spaces and meetings rooms for your upcoming event.

The Library offers spaces for student organization events including:

  • 1st floor Video Game Lab
  • 2nd floor Open Space
  • Classroom 211
  • 3rd floor Comics and Tabletop Games Area

Please note that the library will only accept events that will end and be cleaned up prior to closing hours. To view the library's hours, click here.

Sports and Fitness Center

We have ample space for your large activities and events in the Sports and Fitness Center. This building is perfect for sports clubs, but these spaces are open for anyone to use.

Spaces in the Sports and Fitness Center include

  • Multi-purpose Room
  • West Gym
  • Outdoor Track
  • Outdoor Fields

Please note that the priority user groups for these spaces are below:

1. Kinesiology & Health Department Programming
2. Athletic Department Events & Practices
3. Recreation Department Club Sports & Intramurals
4. Open Recreation
5. All other user groups

If you are a sports club, you can make a reservation by emailing sportclubs@uwstout.edu

All other organizations can email Erik Johnson for a reservation.
