Fall semester is almost here! Read on for important updates for managing your org.

Planning Fall Events | COVID-19 Updates

The Involvement Center sent updates over the summer regarding COVID-19 and how it impacts student organizations. There is a lot of new information to learn and we are here to help guide you through that process.

We have centralized many of those updates on our student org CONNECT website.  We'd particularly like you to review the updated guidelines and protocols on the following pages regarding planning events and applying for funding.  Learn more about the overall guidelines, the registration and approval process for events/meetings/activities and reserving space.

We will continue to update this website with up-to-date information as it is available.

COVID-19 Tabling Guidelines

Sales tables within the Memorial Student Center and Price Commons will be available. However, social distancing will be required and the following guidelines are required.

  • All tabling requests must first secure a tentative reservation from the Conferences & Events Office in the Memorial Student Center (See Reserving Space above).
  • Tabling requests must then be submitted through registration and approval process on CONNECT.  If approved, your reservation will be moved to a confirmed status.
  • Only one person may staff each table.
  • A face covering must be worn while staffing the table.
  • At the start of a table reservation, the person staffing the table must check out a cleaning kit from the Conferences + Events front desk (214 MSC).
  • A bottle of hand sanitizer (provided in the cleaning kit) must be available on the table during the entire reservation.
  • If using pens, they need to be sanitized with an Oxivir wipe between each use.
  • Any fundraising must be cashless.
  • Food/bake sales or any kind of food distribution will not be permitted.
  • The cleaning kit must be returned to 214 MSC at the end of the reservation.

Virtual Backyard Bash  | Set up your Booth

We have extended the activation deadline to Friday, September 4th at noon.  All student orgs must activiate their booth by this time to be included in virtual Backyard Bash.  As a reminder, organizations are expected to staff the live features of their booth Tuesday, September 8th from 5-7pm.

More information regarding how to activate your booth can be found here

All organizations who activate their booth by the deadline will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a $25 Amazon Gift Card for your organization.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please do not create your own Backyard Bash event within your Group Page of CONNECT.  Individuals attending Backyard Bash will be directed to the event from the Involvement Center's page and the homepage of CONNECT. Duplicate Backyard Bash events are not needed.
