We hope everyone is enjoying winter break!  Stay connected to a few reminders and announcements for your student org below!

Winter Festival - Get Money for your Org

The Stout Student Association is hosting a Winter Festival Monday, January 31 -  Saturday, February 5.  The plan is to have games/competitions throughout the week and a giant festival on Saturday, February 5.  They are asking for your org’s involvement in this Festival.

If you and your org volunteer to help with an event, your org will receive $200 of additional SSA funding. There are a number of different outlets that this festival needs help with as well if you are interested in getting involved in other ways. Please fill out this survey ASAP if you are interested or send any questions to winterfestival@uwstout.edu

REMINDER:  Nominations are now being accepted for the Samuel E. Wood Medallion award, the highest non-academic award for UW-Stout students who have shown a commitment to their campus involvement.  Application deadline is Friday, March 11th at 11:59 pm.

Student Org Regalia for Commencement

In conjuction with the Memorial & Honors Committee, the SSA has established the guidelines and process through which students may make their requests to wear regalia that represents their student organization at commencement. 

Please use the below form to submit your requests for student organizaiton regalia if you plan to graduate this spring semester.  Requests are due Friday, February 11th.

REMINDER:  Annual budget requests for student organizations are due February 1st at noon.  Orgs must submit their budget requests AND register for a hearing.

Submit your Nomination for the Annual Leadership Awards

Campus is now accepting nominations for the annual Leadership Awards!  This year's awards will be presented on Wednesday, May 4th and all nominees will be recognized at the event.

The awards are:

  • Student Staff Team of the Year
  • Student Employee of the Year
  • Bill Siedlecki Advisor of the Year
  • Outstanding Student Leader of the Year
  • Student Organization of the Year
  • Student Org Event of the Year ($200 for your org!)

Nomination Deadline: Friday, March 11th at 11:59pm.

CONTRACT REMINDER

If you plan to host a contracted performer/speaker, the Student Org Contract (SSA Funded) form must be submitted at least four (4) weeks in advance.

This is a time sensitive process and if you find your event is less than 4 weeks away, contact Heidi Germain. Orgs will not receive any reimbursement if the form is completed after the event.

As a reminder, payment to performers/speakers cannot begin until all paperwork has been completed and returned. Payments will be mailed via a University check after the event.

Funded for Prizes?  Prize Form Required

If your org is funded for Prizes through the SSA, the COVID event form will ask you about the kinds and costs of prizes you plan to purchase. Please be prepared with that information as you complete the form.

  • Describe the event and the objective of the prizes, awards or gifts:
  • Who is eligible to win? This should always be "Only Students"
  • How will the winner be selected?

After prizes are awarded to the participants, a gift card log must be completed and emailed to Rhonda Rubenzer.

Don't Forget to Register for the Involvement Fair!

Registration is still open for the spring Involvement Fair!  This is a great opportunity to introduce your org to new and returning students interested in exploring involvement opportunities on campus!
