FS Supply Closet Request Form

Starting on September 1, 2020, Fostering Success students can schedule an appointment online or stop by the Student Support Services office in 310 Bowman Hall to schedule an appointment in-person.  Students with appointments will check-in for their scheduled meeting in The Student Support Services Office, Bowman Hall, room 310, which will be staffed during standard business hours.

While walk-ins are welcome in Fostering Success, students and visitors are encouraged to call ahead to determine if meetings can be completed remotely or to schedule a meeting to maintain low density in the office and promote social distancing.

Special note for visitors and applicants: Before visiting campus we ask that you review the expectations in the UW-Stout visitors guide.

The FS Closet is stocked, but closed for walk-ins.  If you are a current participant in the program and are in need of supplies, please use this form to request items for pick up or contact one of the FS staff members:  Gail Mentzel at mentzelg@uwstout.edu or Angie Ruppe at ruppean@uwstout.edu.

Feeling the Urge to Get Out and About?!

Join Gail, Nat or Olivia for a 30-minute walking loop around campus. There are absolutely no expectations other than to get outside, move your body, and get some fresh air! Sounds refreshing and recharging for both the mind and body, right?! Masks are the only items required. Schedule your “walk it out” time on Bookings.

Mandy Stasiek, SSS Advisory & Literacy Coach is offering walks on Tuesdays and Thursday each week! To join Mandy, please meet outside Bowman on the campus/Harvey side (no appt required!) Tuesdays, 9-9:30 & Thursdays from 3:00-3:30
**Note: walks may be canceled due to snow or rain.

New eligibility criteria for FOOD SHARE (aka Food Stamps) for college students!
The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, temporarily expands SNAP (Food Share) eligibility to include students enrolled at least half-time in an institution of higher education, who either:
  1. Are eligible to participate in state or federally financed work study during the regular school year, as determined by the institution of higher education, or
  2. Have an expected family contribution (EFC) of $0 in the current academic year
Beginning on Jan. 16, 2021, students may receive SNAP if they meet all other financial and non-financial SNAP eligibility criteria. The new, temporary exemptions will be in effect until 30 days after the COVID-19 public health emergency is lifted. FNS will update this webpage when the COVID-19 public health emergency ends.
