Dunn County Humane Society Volunteers Wanted
The Dunn County Humane Society is looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter and work at future events. Our next event is the Community Rummage & Bake Sale, April 17th - 20th, at the Fanetti Community Center- Dunn County Ice Area. Offering your time is a great opportunity to get your organization involved in the community and contribute to a great cause. Interested? Reach out to Robyn at volunteer@dunncountyhumanesociety.org to learn more and schedule a time to make a difference.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. The 8-hour training will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to help adults who are experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.
Participants must attend the full day and complete the post-survey in order to receive a certificate. Prior to the training, participants will receive instructions regarding setting up an account and completing a pre-survey that will take less than 10 minutes.
Registration is limited for this free training. Contact Chasidy Faith at faithc@uwstout.edu to register.
Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) Training
Like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in a suicidal crisis. By learning QPR, you will come to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communication of people in trouble, and gain skills to act to prevent a possible tragedy.
Involvement Professional Staff will be leading a training for advisors of student orgs. This will cover the new withdrawal (payment request) form on CONNECT for both agency and foundation accounts.
Every org is assigned a UW-Stout email address. Access is granted through individual permissions. If you aren't sure what your email address is, go to your CONNECT group's settings and check under contact information.
There are two levels of permissions: owners and members.
"Owners" can do the following:
-Open the organization email as a second mailbox within their personal Webmail account.
-Modify the "member list" for this email account. The "member list" will be any of your other student org members that should have access to the student org email.
"Members" can do the following:
