Hi First_Name!

Happy First Day of Classes!  We're wishing you a good first week from Involvement!

As your org gets rolling into the year, remember that the Involvement Center's front desk is here to support you. Offering various services and resources, we're your first point of contact for all org related questions.

Read on to learn more about some of these services.

Email Accounts for Student Orgs

Did you know your org has an assigned UW-Stout email account?  Permissions to the email are granted on an individual level through your personal UW-Stout email account.  Learn more about the permissions and how to grant/remove access to others (Scroll to our Org Email section).

If you need access to your email account please email Krista Proksch.

Free Poster Printng

Student orgs may receive up to 151 free posters per event and 151 free recruitment posters per semester.

Posters must be submitted via the Poster Printing Request on CONNECT at least 10 business days prior to the event.  The full guidelines are included within this form.

Need to know where to hang posters?  Check out the Poster Distribution guide.

Follow Up with your Backyard Bash Contacts!

Backyard Bash was a GREAT success! Thank you to everyone who registered and attended.  Remember to follow up with those that joined your org on CONNECT. Here are a few tips for following up!

  • Review any pendng join requests if your page settings don't allow students to automatically join.
    • Approve these join requests within the Member section of your group page.
    • While you're at it, review your group settings in CONNECT.  We recommend setting your Auto Validation under Access & Privacy to one of two options:
      • "People from the same college/school are auto-validated." This means students automatically join your group page.
      •  "Nobody is auto-validated."  This means you must review all pending member requests and approve them.
  • Email new members welcoming them to your group. Share details about upcoming events, meetings and more.  Use the CONNECT email builder of course to do this :)

  • Check in with your Virtual Backyard Bash booth for the next two weeks! This virtual fair will remain open for students through September 21st.
    • Students have the option to click "I'm Interested". They'll automatically be added as a contact of your group.
    • Get in touch with these Contacts (Access from your Member section and filter by the "Virtual Backyard Bash" member tag (see below).
Please feel free to contact the Involvement Center with any and all questions. We're here to help!
