Greetings Student Org Leaders!

Next week we're hosting a workshop and we'd love to "see" you there!  Also, read on for information about becoming a Stout mentor and open positions within the Student Centers!

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word "recruitment" as it relates to your student org? Likely it's a table in the MSC, an info session with free pizza or participating in an org fair. Those events are part of the process, but not the most important part.

This workshop was created to help you, as org leaders, look at recruitment through fresh eyes. Join us to learn valuable principles to attract, select and secure the right members for your organization.

Hey Student Org Leaders!

Want to help an incoming Blue Devil get connected to Stout like you did? Become a volunteer mentor in the Stout MentorLink program!

Stout MentorLink is UW-Stout’s student-to-student mentor program where upper-class leaders, like yourself, are matched with incoming students to help them navigate their first year at Stout.

Here’s how Stout MentorLink works:

  • Students and mentors complete a survey about themselves and their backgrounds.
  • Mentor Collective matches students and mentors based on similar interests and backgrounds, or what is important to them.
  • We expect incoming first-year students to begin signing up in May and June at orientation. Once you are matched with a mentee(s), you decide how and how often you want to connect – we recommend at least once/month. Connections can happen via email, phone, video chat, or text. Conversation will begin over the summer and continue through next school year!
  • When filling out your matching survey we recommend, if able, to choose to mentor 3-5 incoming first-year students.

Have questions? Contact us at mentorlink@uwstout.edu.

We are hiring for positions in the Memorial Student Center and Price Commons.  As student org leaders, we know what great employees you also make!
