Backyard Bash Check-In Starts 2:30PM Tues.

Backyard Bash is Tuesday, September 3rd from 5-7PM.

Check-in will start at 2:30PM at the Involvement Center where you will receive your table number. If the event is moved indoors due to weather, you will be notified at this time.

You must sign up for a table by Friday, August 30th at Noon. Orgs will not be allowed to participate in Backyard Bash after this deadline. 

Backyard Bash/Homecoming SSA Funding Request Form

If your org did not request SSA funding for Backyard Bash or Homecoming, you have the opportunity to apply for funding between now and September 30th at Noon. Fill out this form to make a request and skip the hearing process.

SSA Budget Timeline

The 24-25 fiscal year started on July 1st so you may now start spending your allocations in the 24-25 Annual Budget. Contingency requests will begin once the new Financial Affairs Committee begins functioning. It populates from SSA during September and the projected 1st week of hearings for Fall 24 Contingency will likely be the week of September 30th-October 4th.   • New treasurers or anyone purchasing with SSA funding should take the Attend to Spend Quiz by September 30th in order to be re-recognized.

Susie Kuesel has joined the Involvement team as our new Involvement and Student Org Accounts Manager! She is busy learning her new role after serving previously at UW-Stout in Financial Aid. Please make sure to get your purchase requests in soon for Back yard Bash so that it can arrive on time. You can also check out the Spending your SSA Budget page for spending details.

Digital Signage Updates

After seeing an influx in digital signage requests, campus has updated the terms of the policy. Here is a highlight of the changes for student organizations:

  • No general meeting ads will be displayed on digital signage – For additional advertising of general meetings, orgs can print 1 recruitment poster a month at the Involvement Center
  • Routine events that take place weekly/monthly will be posted on digital signage once a semester – include all dates on one digital signage ad and determine which 10 days you would like your ad displayed
  • Please remember to submit your digital signage ads at least 5 business days in advance to ensure they will be displayed on time.
