Final Backyard Bash Updates

If your org or department is not signed up by tomorrow, 8/31 you will not be given a table. Register here. If your org is already registered, you will see yourself listed as a co-host on the Backyard Bash CONNECT event.

Backyard Bash is next week, September 5th. Check in will be from 4-5PM at the Involvement Center where you will receive your table number. If the event is moved indoors, check in will still be at the Involvement Center and orgs will table in Micheels/Applied Arts/Jarvis. 

Chairs are not provided, but you may bring your own.

All items must fit on top or behind your table. If you have items behind your table, they should be on the grass and not in the way of other tablers or any sidewalks.

Before leaving, all orgs must collapse their table and return it to the provided carts. Orgs must also take all their belongings and throw out any trash. The Involvement Center is not responsible for items left behind.

Org Purchases and Reimbursement

If you’re purchasing items for Backyard Bash or the school year and are requesting reimbursement, remember you need to get payment requests in within 2 weeks of the purchase. You will need to go through the mandatory 23/24 Attend to Spend training before you can be reimbursed.

Org Re-Registration 

Org re-registration is open until September 30th. Each year all orgs must complete this process to stay recognized with SSA. There are two steps.

Step 1: Re-register on CONNECT. A student officer must do this, the advisor cannot complete the form. To access the form, go to your org's group page on CONNECT. There will be a large blue box with the registration link. After completing the form, all officers and the advisor will be emailed the officer/advisor agreement form. Everyone must review and complete the form.

Step 2: Attend Leadership Summit. At least one officer from each org must attend, but all are encouraged.

After these two steps are completed, SSA will review your org's re-registration form and be in contact either with any questions or that your org is approved.

Leadership Summit Registration is Open

The 2023 Leadership Summit is Thursday, September 21st from 6-9PM in the MSC Great Hall.

Register here on CONNECT. Once you register to the event you will be redirected to a survey asking what org you are representing.

All orgs must have at least one officer attend the Leadership Summit as part of org re-registration but all are encouraged to attend.

Involvement Center Hours

The Involvement Center is open 9AM-4:30PM on Thursday 8/31, Friday 9/1, and Monday, 9/4. You can beat the rush for submitting poster requests, picking up any mail or packages, and using the Creation Station. The Involvement Center will be open Tuesday 9/5 from 9AM-8PM. 

Starting Wednesday 9/6 desk hours for fall semester will be Mondays-Thursdays 9AM-7PM and Fridays 9AM-4:30PM.
