I got involved with CMAA as a freshman and haven't left! The club industry drew me in with the promise of a little bit of everything: Hotel, tourism, and restaurant management all at one place! Hi there!
I am a senior graduating in May, 2023. I am a double major in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management and Real Estate Property Management with a certificate in Event Planning. Since joining CMAA, I have had the pleasure of experiencing so many unique opportunities within the Club Management industry. Joining CMAA is a wonderful way for you to gain experience, meet industry professionals, and participate in different events and conferences all around the country!

Hello:) I've been in CMAA since my freshman year! I am a Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism student and plan on graduating in December 2023 and pursue my Masters degree at UW-Stout in Training and Development in Human Resources. Being in CMAA has given me the opportunity to receive more hands-on experiences outside of the classroom through the club tours and conferences we attend as well being able to network with industry professionals. Outside of CMAA, I work as a Hall Manager for University Housing and a Campus Tour Guide! I am also an avid Spotify enthusiast, so follow me ;) @sammicoley
A brief explanation of the various tasks our board members do
Responsible for overseeing exec. board participation, delegating tasks in benefit to the student chapter, and organizing the general meeting and exec. board agenda. Be the official contact between the student chapter, CMAA National Headquarters, and the senior CMAA chapter. Assists in recruiting members in participating in club tours, conferences, seminars, events, etc.
Responsible for assisting the President on duties and final decisions. The Vice President shall have the authority and assume the full duties of the President in the case of his or her absence.
OPEN POSITION! Responsible for collection of membership dues, handling the organization's financial accounts and the Stout Student Association allocated funds (like requesting payments through the Involvement Center), submitting budget requests, and attending budget hearings.
Responsible for keeping record of meeting minutes and submit copies to board members, chapter members, the National Headquarters, and appropriate committee members. In the meeting, keep attendance records for chapter meetings, seminars, and events. Keep the membership roster continuously up-to date and provide the National Headquarters with a current roster.
Responsible for creating promotional content in efforts to recruit future members. Content includes but is not limited to: CONNECT website, Instagram posts and stories, Facebook posts and events, and bulletin boards and poster designs. Maintains the overall branding of the organization and ensures consistency. Ensures members are engaging with the club and creates team bonding activities. Assists with club events such as fundraising, club tours, apparel sponsorship, and more.
OPEN POSITION! Responsible for leading the event process of planning, organizing, coordinating, promoting, and managing the club's social activities. The Event Coordinator is the main contact in outreach between our student chapter and club staff when planning club visits. Position will work with the exec. board to ensure that all members expectations are exceeded to enhance their overall enjoyment of the student chapter.
