Mission

The Black Student Union:

1) Strives to promote academic excellence, cultural awareness, and social unity among our student body and community.

2) Communicates freely, networks with, and monetarily and socially assists other organizations on campus.

3) Provides a means and atmosphere for cultural and social interactions for students, through hosting meetings, speakers, events, and other activities.

4) Encourages our members to be members of other organizations, committees, and social groups on and off campus.

Goals

Our mission for BSU is to create a safe space for black students, and anyone interested in learning about the African American community. We are a group that sponsors cultural and social events, provides leadership opportunities, and encourage networking among African Americans.
