Research Day 2025

Research Day is a free annual celebration of the research, creativity, and innovation of students, faculty, and staff at UW-Stout. It offers a venue for those in all fields to share the results of their ground-breaking research, scholarly or artistic projects with the public and their peers. Through posters, exhibits, art or design displays, and oral presentations, students, faculty, and staff share what they've learned, created, and innovated with business, industry and community partners.

11:00–1:00: Attend Quick Pitch, a fast-paced student competition to describe research in 3 minutes or less.

1:00–2:30: Listen to collaborative oral presentations in this new event, Innovative Insights - Faculty and Student Research Showcase.

2:30-2:45: Watch “The Making and Sneak Peek of Jilly and Juno, a Mixed Media Animated Short Film” and engage with its creative student team.

3:00–5:00: From informative research posters to engaging engineering exhibits to multimedia displays, check out the 150 Posters and Exhibits in the Great Hall, Ballrooms and Skylight Lounge.

5:15-6:00: Celebrate student and faculty outstanding researchers and Research Day competition winners at the closing Award Ceremony.

CHEM 110 - Online - Natural Science with Lab - Summer 2025

Seats at available in CHEM 110-Chemistry in our World; 4-credit natural science with lab, offered completely online summer 2025. It focuses on the role of chemistry in our lives. Topics covered include portable electronics such as your cell phone, radiation, climate change, water pollution, alternative energy sources, polymers, and  plastics. The course is asynchronous and self-paced and can be completed in 4 to 8 weeks. Email questions to Dr. Vande Linde, vandelindea@uwstout.edu.

The Math TLC is NOW HIRING Teaching Assistants for 2025-2026, supporting students in MATH 80, 90 and 120. Minimum qualifications include: Successful completion of MATH 90 with an A/A- and instructor recommendation OR Completion of MATH 118 or higher with at least B+ OR MPT 4 or higher and concurrent enrollment in calculus. Our Caucus starts at 6:30pm with our full Senate Meeting starting at 7:00pm.

The University Student Senate is the legislative body of the Stout Student Association and meets weekly to discuss university policy and shared governance, allocate fees, promote new initiatives in support of the students, and hear from campus leaders.

The agenda will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting and can be accessed here.  Anyone in need of accommodations should contact our Communications Specialist in advance at ssacommunications@uwstout.edu.
