“Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.” – Erol Ozan
Even the most social people you know can feel lonely and isolated – it’s more common than you think. Social connections you’ve had your whole life might disappear as you move away from each other, and leaving behind family and friends can be overwhelming. Even though it is very common, there are ways to get through that loneliness and isolation. Here are some tips to help you:
Build relationships: Connect with people who share your interests by joining clubs, groups, or classes.
Take care of yourself: eat well, limit screen time, and get enough sleep.
Stay active: join a gym, take a class, or go for a walk with a friend.
Pursue creative activities: writing, painting, playing an instrument, or cooking can improve your well-being.
Attend local events: Explore activities on campus and in the community.
Reframe loneliness: Loneliness can be a necessary part of understanding how to live better. Practice being comfortable by yourself.
