“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” -Arthur Ashe
Here on some tips on staying organized:
Make a list—this helps you remember the things that you want to get done. Lists help keep you on track, plus there’s that little bonus feel-good moment when you can cross something off your list.
Start small—don’t force yourself into getting everything done all at once. Choose smaller tasks to start with. This helps increase motivation to tackle the more daunting tasks.
Reduce clutter—throw away old sticky notes, put your pens back in their holder, wipe off your desk. Sometimes organization can be as simple as reestablishing a clean work environment.
Make time—whether it’s setting aside 10 minutes a day to organize, or one afternoon a week, choose what works for you, but be sure to follow through with this small goal. Side note: if you have a roommate, this is an important conversation to have to reduce conflict on cleanliness and organization.
Find what works for you—everyone has a different style and level of comfort that works for them. Think about what makes you feel the most comfortable and accomplished and set that as your goal.
