This interactive workshop will introduce students to Black artists whose work has shaped and challenged the history of art. We will explore artists across time periods and media, examining how race, identity, resistance, and creativity intersect in their work. Through a variety of case studies, we will question whose stories get told in art history and consider how Black artists have expanded the visual language of the past and present. No prior art history experience is required.
