Welcome to the Spring Semester 2021! And an extra special welcome to our newest students and to any of you who have returned to campus after studying from your home country in fall!
We know that you are busy getting your semester off to a strong start but please take a few minutes to review the information in this week's newsletter.
The terms of your F-1 visa require you be "registered" in SEVIS each semester. The OIE has a limited amount of time to do this so it is important that you complete the check-in process by Friday, January 29, 2021! Failure to complete this process could result in you failing to maintain your F-1 status.
Who needs to complete the Check-In Form:
All continuing F-1 UW-Stout students
All continuing F-1 UW-Stout students even if they are studying from outside of the U.S.
All continuing F-1 UW-Stout students even if they are studying all online
What information do we need to register you?
You must be enrolled in a full course of study (minimum 12 credits for undergrads and 9 credits for graduates)
You must provide an updated address and phone number
Please complete the Check-In Form by clicking the pink button:
In Spring 2021 to continue prioritizing the health and safety of students and staff, the OIE will continue to operate by virtual appointment only. To continue assisting you, please take note of the following resources:
The OIE's StoutCloud Page: these pages have been revamped with updated information to help YOU. Please take some time to review the pages and familiarize yourself with the topics and related resources that you can access 24/7.
The OIE's Booking Page: Like many offices across campus, the OIE will not be holding Walk-In Hours in Spring 2021 and will conduct virtual appointments only. Students who need to speak with an advisor must schedule an appointment using the OIE's booking page, at least one day in advance of the appointment.
You can also look out for weekly Coffee Hours on Tuesdays 1:00-2:00pm and Fridays 10:30am-11:30am.
