Mindfulness Monday

Take 10 to be Zen

When we’re stressed about something, our thoughts tend to speed up. Taking 10 minutes or so to practise mindfulness can help produce a sense of calmness.

  • Guided meditation - there are many different apps (some even free) to walk you through different meditation styles.
  • Try doing an everyday activity in a mindful way – basically, put away distractions and focus fully on one small task. For example, while you’re having a cup of tea or coffee, pay attention to your senses (the smell, the warmth of the cup in your hand, the taste…).
  • Go for a walk - many of us are spending less time moving than we would on campus.
  • Take a break from your phone - we're consistently attached to our phones and it's good to get away from it (more than just when you're sleeping).

Library Feature Stream: The Breakfast Club

In "The Breakfast Club", five high-school students from different cliques spend a day-long detention together, and discover that they have more in common then they ever expected.
This selection, one of the 100,000+ titles in your Video Streaming Library, is brought to you by Swank Digital Campus.
