Blue Devil Productions is excited to present JoJo Green with Freezer Jam on Thursday, March 11 in the Great Hall, MSC!
JoJo Green has a sound that will grab you out of your chair and shake you to the core. This band of misfits found each other in 2019 with one goal: to write, arrange, and perform the best music of their lifetime, and they have not disappointed. With strong influences from Motown, Muscle Shoals, and The Summer of Love, JoJo Green gives a nostalgic feeling to a fresh sound - easy on the ears, and exciting to the body. Listeners are mesmerized by JoJo Green's powerhouse vocals mixed with agile woodwinds, shredding guitars, funky bass, and driving drums: a surefire crowd pleaser!
Freezer Jam was born in the pre-Covid Spring of 2020 when drummer Ryan Hoyt and guitarists Ben Mohr and John Arteman began to get together after their Stout classes to pursue their passion for music. Mutually fueled by a love of musical improvisation, syncopated riffs, and psychedelic rock, the trio was beginning to gain momentum when suddenly the pandemic broke out. Despite the challenges imposed by Covid-19, the three continued to meet and keep the music going. Then, in the late winter of 2021, bassist Trevin Nelson joined the ensemble, and the music began to take on a new fire. The band is always continuing to write, create new music, and perform. Never content to play a song the same way twice, Freezer Jam is constantly working to push the boundaries of their music, to the end of delivering a truly euphoric sonic experience.
