Subject: Important Information about Credit/No Credit Option for Saudi Students

If you are currently a SACM-sponsored student, this information is very important to you. If you are hopeful of becoming SACM-sponsored soon, you will should know this information so that you can make an informed decision. 

With the change to online instruction for the remainder of the spring semester, UW-Stout is aware that many students have to make adjustments to continue being successful in this new learning environment. To support students, UW-Stout has brought in a policy known as 'Credit/No Credit' or 'CR/NC'. This is similar to 'Pass/Fail' in that students who elect to take their classes as CR/NC will not receive letter grades for their course performance. While UW-Stout would like to give students the option to take their classes as CR/NC, SACM has confirmed that they will NOT allow SACM-sponsored students to take classes for CR/NC. 

For students who are wanting to be SACM-sponsored in the future: I advise you not to take the CR/NC option as doing so could result in a rejection of future SACM scholarship applications. 

If this news comes as a disappointment to you and/or you are having difficulty in some of your courses,  I strongly encourage you to stay in close contact with your advisors, program directors and instructors who are in the best place to assist you during this time.
