LUCKY WEEK 13

We hope that you were able to kick your feet up and relax over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Now that we are back to it, you can breathe easy knowing that we have just a two and a half weeks until the end of the semester. Fun fact: This term, your classes end on a TUESDAY (December 15) and your Final Exams begin on WEDNESDAY, December 16.

MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY VOLUNTEERS

For the second year in a row, we are looking for volunteers to participate in International Mother Language Day. The year's event will be virtual so we are looking for volunteers to record a short video (less than five minutes) which will be compiled and shared for the event in February 2021. I would like to see at least 10 students participate! So what do you need to know if you want to be involved?

  1. You will need to record yourself reading, reciting or telling a story in your native language. What you share can be personal or it can be a previously published work such as a poem or short story. Last year we had recipes, children's stories, poems, jokes and lots of other contributions.
  2. If there are multiple students in your language group, you can work together (safely) as a team to make one recording.
  3. The recording should be five minutes or less! But I will award you two hours of Global Involvement for your participation.
  4. Videos will need to be completed before the start of the next semester. The deadline is January 19, 2021.
  5. Danielle has more information for participants. Please email Danielle to get on the list and receive more information.

KNOW YOUR FINALS WEEK SCHEDULE

Like any year, it is crucially important that you know your Final Exam schedule. But as it is Fall 2020, you may need to do some extra research to make sure that you know the plan for your examinations. You can view the Evaluation Week (Finals Week) schedule here:
https://www.uwstout.edu/academics/academic-services/registration-and-records-office/important-dates-and-times/evaluation-dates-fall-2020

But you should also be checking your course syllabi AND listening closely to your instructors for guidance and new information following the shift to virtual coursework. Most importantly, if you are not 100% sure what the plan is for your classes, contact your instructor(s) TODAY get the correct information!

COMMENCEMENT REMINDERS
