Isolation is a major cause of depression. This is how you can combat that!
A support system is made up of people who provide support and care for you. Include people who respect you, make you feel good about yourself, who you can trust, and who brings out your best qualities.
Make a list - Start by counting those already in your corner. This is who you want to build upon and include in your support group.
Reach out to them! - Make a point of contacting these people and ask them how they are doing. They will be more willing to help if you care for them in return.
Is this list kind of small? - Think about possible roadblocks that are preventing some people from being on your list and ways you can improve.
Know what you want - Focus on the kind of support you need right now in life. Embrace your interests and work with those as well.
Use your support! - If you need assistance, just ask. Support systems can’t help you if they aren’t being utilized.
