In 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed (Patrick Wilson) Warren are summoned to the home of Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and Roger (Ron Livingston) Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate in horrifying fashion, especially after the Warrens discover the house's macabre history.

Communicate openly - any secrets or emotions being bottled inside will only end up causing problems in the long run
Talk about issues soon after they occur - letting problems steep for awhile will either make you more upset or add up to a larger issue
Stop talking to people outside of your relationship who don’t support your relationship - negative energy is never welcomed!
Talk about issues in a solution-focused manner - say things like, “What can we do about the problem?” and, “What will make this better?”
Ask for what you need - a relationship is 50/50 and your happiness is just as important as someone else’s!
Be clear about your expectations - miscommunication is a top reason why relationships are so difficult, be clear about what you want/need.
Admit when you’re wrong - be the bigger person and humble yourself if you make a mistake or act in the wrong.
Apologize or ask for forgiveness - doing so could inspire the other person in your relationship to do the same.
Don’t repeat the same mistakes over and over
Don’t try to change people, change your reaction to the things you find challenging about other people
