AFS Stout's first Open Pour of Spring '24!
No experience required! Walk away with something metal you made for free!
We'll be utilizing the Lost Foam method of metalcasting this session to fit more people per workstation. With this method, we bury an EPS foam object (coffee cup material) in sand, and then pour molten metal down a foam sprue attached the object, which all vaporizes away on contact, leaving the metal to take the shape left behind! We'll have premade hearts & flowers, as well as extra EPS foam that you can cut your own patterns out of!

Phishing Friday: Don’t Get Emotional
Love is in the air during the month of February, but it’s important not to let our emotions lead us to fall for a phishing attempt. Phishers use emotional triggers, such as pretending to be a trusted friend or family member in distress, claiming they need urgent financial assistance. Another approach involves creating a sense of urgency or fear. Emotional triggers aim to prompt hasty responses. Always verify unusual requests with the person before acting.
