Do you love bingo? If yes, we have a treat for you this Halloween weekend. Latinos Unidos (LUs) is collaborating with the Involvement Center to host an afternoon of Lotería, which means 'lottery' in Spanish. Although this is similar to bingo, there are key differences, including colorful images on the 'bingo' cards. Come on out for free treats and a chance to win prizes. The LU's will teach us all to play!
Join us for a Halloween weekend work day at Dobbs Landing!
We will be meeting at the Dobbs Landing Parking area at 1 PM on Saturday (10/26). We will either be removing invasive plants, such as buckthorn and honeysuckle, collecting native seeds, or hiking/doing some mapping depending on what needs to get done. So, if any of those things interests you, come join us.
Please remember to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and sturdy shoes. Also remember to bring water to keep yourself hydrated.
Gather all makers to spend this Halloween piecing together your very own spooky little friends. We will be sharing techniques, ideas, and of course the supplies! Register early to save your spot.
Join public defender Kirby Harless for a presentation and discussion on your individual rights when interacting with the police. Topics covered will focus on your rights as granted by the 4th and 5th amendments of the United States constitution.
Part of the Involvement Center’s social justice programming series.
