Come on out, again, for our second Open Mic of the Fall Semester! Whether you are just looking to vibe or want an inclusive, supportive environment to test out anything you're working on, you'll find it there.
Please be aware that this show can be mature in content, most everything is allowed as long as it is not hatefully punching down, and anything that can be construed as not supportive of the folks courageous enough to get on the stage will not be tolerated.
The Open Mic sign-ups will run from 7:00PM to 8:00PM with the show starting once the sign-up period is over. Anyone is encouraged to sign up and if they get the jitters and don't want to follow through they will always be respected and protected. Cheers and see you there.
Bring your own electronic device to enjoy an evening of Jackbox games. Our audience will help choose which party pack and games we'll play. Entry to this event is free and there will be candy prizes!
Don't be scared of the dark. Come out at night to be hypnotized by bingo calls. Who knows, your future could behold many mysterious prizes. Trick or treats provided to all attendees!
Do you love bingo? If yes, we have a treat for you this Halloween weekend. Latinos Unidos (LUs) is collaborating with the Involvement Center to host an afternoon of Lotería, which means 'lottery' in Spanish. Although this is similar to bingo, there are key differences, including colorful images on the 'bingo' cards. Come on out for free treats and a chance to win prizes. The LU's will teach us all to play!
A "spiritual sequel" to the original film, returning the story of the Candyman to the now-gentrified section of Chicago that once held the Cabrini-Green housing projects.

Wake up earlier - try and shift your internal clock to getting up earlier so you can get the most sunlight possible out of your day. Having a good sleep routine is also important, and sticking to a schedule is key.
Use a light box - light box therapy can help reduce symptoms of SAD such as sadness, hopelessness, lack of energy, and irritability.
Try and get outside - even 30 minutes a day is a good way to feel better. Open your curtains, raise the blinds, and get all the light in!
Exercise away depression - regular exercise is good for lots of things, so get your plan ready before winter begins. Try to take walks outside.
Eat healthy - a good diet filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy proteins puts you at a lower risk for depression compared to fried foods, foods with added sugars, refined grains, and processed foods.
