“To Freedom” is an art exhibit featuring artists of Estonian, Polish and Ukrainian descent. Come to this opening reception to meet the three guest artists, and enjoy choral music from the region! At the reception, Polish-American artist Monika Weiss will perform Orgé, composed and choreographed by the artist, with participation by the UW-Stout Symphonic Singers and select faculty and students.
Join us for this meeting to talk about the upcoming Involvement Center events and what you'd like to see for fun! This is the first in a series of events asking for student input in how the Involvement Center operations. Future events will ask about CONNECT, Social Media, Marketing, and Belonging in general. Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, the November Pogroms. Through November 9th and 10th, 1938, German Nazis coordinated a violent attack on Jewish people, homes, and synagogues, culminating in streets littered with broken glass and generational trauma that is still felt to this day.
Join the Involvement Center and Dr. Jacob Hellman for an evening of recognition and honor for those people and those families whose lives were permanently changed beginning that night of November 9th.
We will be enjoying traditional challah bread with your choice of butter, honey, or grape jam, and having intentional discussions on how all of us can do our part to keep nights like Kristallnacht from happening again.
