I have received a number of questions about what is going to happen regarding the Global Involvement Hours that you have been [hopefully] gaining since the start of the semester. As you know, in order to apply for scholarship in Fall 2020, you are required to completed a minimum 20 hours of Global Involvement prior to May 1, 2020. 

Of course, with all that is happening in our community, and across the globe, we understand that it is not going to be possible for students to continue completing Global Involvement hours for the foreseeable future. Therefore, our solution is this: 

We ask that students submit via email their scholarship application and Global Involvement Forms to the OIE. If you do not have 20 hours, please submit what you do have completed by May 1. 

I ask that these documents be submitted in following way:

  • These documents should be submitted as pdf or jpeg attachments to globaled@uwstout.edu
  • Please scan these documents and attach them to the email. If you are unable to scan, please take a good quality photo of your forms and attach them to the email
When we return for the fall semester, students who have outstanding hours will have four weeks (until September 30) to submit the remaining hours. 

For example: if you have already completed 12 hours of Global Involvement, you have eight hourse left to complete. You will have until September 30 to submit the remaining eight hours.

If you do not already have the necessary forms, they are attached to this email. I hope that you agree that this is a sensible solution to the issue. Please contact me directly if you have any questions.
