We've almost made it through first semester! Read on for this week's updates.

Changes to the Spring Involvement Fair... Introducing the Student Org Showcase

We are trying something new this year!  Instead of our traditional spring involvement fair, we are hosting a Student Org Showcase over the course of three days in February.

We’ll take over a portion of the lower level of the MSC for orgs to have tables and recruit new members. Orgs can sign up for one of the three days depending on what works for you.

We’re hoping that this change will allow orgs to have more visibility and recruit more members.  We’ll be encouraging all orgs to have fun activities at your table and be engaging!  Draw people in and make it fun!

Lower level, MSC

Registration will open later this week. Please watch your email for more information to sign up for a day.

Create your Spring Meetings and Events in CONNECT

Now is the time to put your spring semester meetings and events in your CONNECT page.   

Below are a few best practices to keep in mind.

  • Include your org name in the Event title for meetings. For example,  “Blaze Fan Club Meeting”
  • Use the recurring meeting feature to save yourself time for meetings
  • Only display your event on the upcoming events slider if it's open for everyone. Learn more
  • Customize the reminder option to email attendees before the event
  • Include meeting agendas and past minutes under File Attachments within the event

Once you create your events/meetings you’ll be all set to track attendance right within CONNECT. Use the self check-in, card swipe or a combination of both!

SSA Annual Budget Requests | Budget requests will close on January 30th, 2020 at noon. Get your annual budget in.  Contact the Financial Affairs Director of SSA with any questions.
 

Blanket Reservations | If you haven't made your blanket reservation for spring semester meetings yet in the MSC, make sure you do! Rooms fill up quickly. Learn more
