From: Danielle Clarizio Date: September 4, 2020 Subject: ISSS Important Updates for Fall 2020
Hey, Week 1! We see you!
This message is a series of reminders for all F-1 students. Please review this information in this message carefully.
Also, If you have questions about how different areas have been impacted by COVID, be sure to check the COVID pages for those areas. Below are some of the most common ones.
UW-Stout COVID-19 Page. This page contains information covering a number of topics and questions related to COVID and COVID response. If you have time, please watch the forum for more information, it can be found here.
The COVID page also links to specific pages for each of these areas:
During Week 1 Danielle will send out a Check-In Form that ALL F-1 STUDENTS will be required to complete by Wednesday, September 16.
In this form we will ask questions to ensure that you are maintaining your F-1 visa status. Depending on your answers, you may also be asked to upload a good-quality photo or scan of your I-20, passport, visa, or I-94. Please do not try to “cheat” the form to complete it faster or to avoid attaching the requested documents. The purpose of this form is two- fold:
To ensure that you are maintaining your status which allows us to register you in SEVIS and;
To learn more about your plans so that we can provide pre-emptive or early advising to you in Fall 2020
Once completed, Danielle will review your form and contact you about any questions, pre-emptive guidance or other information. Please be on the lookout for the Check-In Form link during Week 1.
CHECK-IN SESSION UPDATE
We will no longer hold sessions, instead we ask that students review the Fall 2020 Updates for F-1 Students which can be viewed on the OIE's StoutCloud page or attached to this message.
This document contains updates on the following subjects:
Contacting the OIE in Fall 2020
StoutCloud & Other Resources

Completing your SEVIS Check-In
FALL 2020 FEES
During every semester of your enrollment, you are charged for two fees, these fees are automatically applied to your account when you enroll in classes:
1) International Services Fee: $200- you will be charged this fee if you are enrolled for Fall 2020, regardless of whether you are studying in the U.S. or from abroad.
2) International Student Insurance: $747 (Fall 2020 amount)- If you will be outside of the U.S. in Fall 2020, your International Insurance Fee will be removed. Please note that the process of removing this fee is a manual one requiring Danielle to go through each student account individually. Because of this, this fee will not be removed until Danielle has received your Check-In Form. Assuming that your form is received on time, you can estimate that this fee will be removed by or around the 10th day of classes.
SCHOLARSHIP REMINDER
Scholarship recipients received a separate message with updates about Fall 2020 scholarships and requirements for Spring 2021.
If you are expecting a scholarship in Fall 2020, please note that Danielle has already requested scholarships to be added to student accounts so you should be seeing your award very soon.
