As part of the Involvement Center's Stoutreach program, we'll have mental health-related art activities and stations to partake in. Cookies will be given to all attendees.

This week’s Monday Meet Up is all about Poetry to commemorate National Poetry Month! This event was helped put together with the English and Philosophy Department and the Literature Committee to allow us to bring in Karen Loeb, Professor Emerita UW Eau Claire, and Eau Claire Writer in Residence from 2018-2020. UW Stout's creative writing professor Daniel Ruefman will lead a mini-workshop following Karen's reading. You can also learn about some types of poetry and techniques and also allow you to submit and share some of your own work! We look forward to seeing you at this upcoming Monday Meetup!
Blue Devil Productions is proud to present Gully Boys! This live show will be available on our website from March 17th to March 31st, 2021. Citing influences such as No Doubt and Hole, Gully Boys have crafted a sound that brings a new life to the nostalgic '90s grunge rock that is irresistible to many. They released their debut album, Not so Brave, which was recorded at the iconic Pachyderm Studio, back in the summer of 2018. In the same year, they were named City Pages' number one “Picked to Click, Best New Band”. Most recently, they released a new EP, Phony, at the end of 2019. - currently on regular rotation on Seattle’s KEXP and Minneapolis’ The Current.

Inspired by the fiery volcanoes of Alaska and the swampy potato marshes of Idaho from which she hails, Sally Ann Hall has a comedic style that combines wit and charm with childlike bladder control. She is the winner of both the 2018 Laughing Devil Comedy Festival and the 2017 She Devil Comedy Festival in New York City, where she is based. She’s also performed at the 2018 Women in Comedy Festival, NC Comedy Festival and the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta and is a regular performer at Comic Strip Live, LOL Comedy Club, The Stand, New York Comedy Club, Greenwich Comedy Club, Eastville, and Gotham.

April is National Poetry Month! On Monday, April 12th the Literature Committee, English and Philosophy Department and the Involvement Center are putting together a Poetry Celebration taking place from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in the MSC, Great Hall or virtually on Teams. Now Hiring Math TLC Teaching Assistants for 2021-2022
The Math TLC is NOW HIRING Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the 2021-2022 academic year. Math TLC TAs support students in MATH 10 (Fundamentals of Algebra) and MATH 90 (Intermediate Algebra) courses with an integrated online/classroom/tutor lab requirement.
Minimum qualifications include:
• Successful completion of MATH 90 in the Math TLC with a grade of A or A- and a recommendation from your instructor -OR- • Completion of MATH 118 or higher with a grade of at least B+ -OR- • Math Placement Test score of Level 4 or higher and concurrent enrollment in calculus

Regents Oppertunity Scholarship - minimum $2,500 award | Deadline April 18th!
UW-Stout is seeking nominations for the 2021-2022 Regents Opportunity Scholarship (ROS). The ROS is a UW System scholarship intended to recognize underrepresented and underserved students who demonstrate financial need and who have overcome adversity, have strong academic performance, significant personal achievements, and provided service to their communities. Current UW-Stout undergraduate students who meet eligibility requirements and plan to attend Stout in Fall 2021 should apply. Scholarship guidelines and eligibility criteria can be found, here.
UW-Stout will award scholarships to current undergraduate students who plan to continue to attend UW-Stout or graduate during the 2021-2022 academic year. Students need to complete an online application and ask a faculty, staff or administrator to write a letter of support for their nomination to be submitted online, both to be turned in by April 18, 2021. Any questions should be directed to Dominique Vargas.

Register for the WiSys Quick Pitch! A student “pitch” competition that inspires UW System students to consider the impact of their research. Participants have three minutes to impress a panel of judges with their research and their ability to articulate its larger importance to society.
The winner from each campus wins a $300 prize and a spot in the Quick Pitch State Final! Plus, WiSys will provide training and support to craft your presentation. A training session is required to present.

2021 SSA Election Debate Night!
The Stout Student Association’s elections are quickly approaching! To give students an opportunity to learn more about candidates, there will be a debate night held with the candidates that will appear on the ballot and any write-in candidates that wish to come.
The SSA Election Debate will be held on April 1st, 2021 at 6pm virtually through Microsoft Teams. The event is open to all to ask questions of the people running for these incredibly important positions! Event details: Debate Night
Come and see potential student leaders present their case for why they should represent and advocate for you, ask questions about them and their future plans for the Stout Student Association, and get involved in your student association!
If you want to run for a position but missed the candidate nomination period, never fear- write-in campaigns are welcome and encouraged! This is a great opportunity to ask people for votes so people will write you in for that position on the ballot when it is sent out. Email the Clerk of Elections to confirm you will participate in the debate.
