This semester the Natural Areas Club will be sponsoring a plant sale on Wednesday, September 23rd, from 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Our stands will be located on the first floor of the MSC right across from the dinning/study area that is next to the Brew Devils coffee shop. This year we will be offering a variety of cute little succulents at a price ranging from $1 to $5 (Cash transactions are off limits this semester, so all payments must be electronic via a provided QR code located at our sales table).
The virtual fair will feature a line-up of dozens of live sessions, held in Teams, that involve partnering international universities, study abroad providers, and expert and student panels, for students to explore their study abroad/away options while at UW-Stout. Students can also “Ask an Advisor” in a Teams chat, and faculty will be available for Q&A sessions to promote their faculty-led programs. To join, 1) go to Canvas, 2) click “Accept” to enroll in the fair “course,” 3) click “Attend Live Sessions,” 4) click “Live Session Link” at your chosen session’s scheduled time.
But, before Sept. 23 and after, you can also access the site to read about study abroad programs, watch pre-recorded info sessions, and more. And, September 21st through the 25th, participate in the virtual Scavenger Hunt! Micro-scholarships of $100 that can be used towards study abroad prior to graduation will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who submit all correct answers.

Q. Why do I have to wait on-site for the results of my antigen test?
A. One of the primary values of antigen testing is that the results can be available in less than 20 minutes. Students need to wait on-site in the event additional testing may be required and to be provided guidance on follow up and isolation.
Q. Where can off-campus students receive testing?
A. Student Health Services provides PCR testing for off-campus symptomatic students and individuals who have been identified as a close contact through the contact tracing process. Antigen testing is currently performed only for residence hall students. Testing resources are also available in the Menomonie area: Mayo Clinic Health System, Marshfield Clinic, Prevea Health.
Q. How do I reserve a seat in an open lab?
A. A new software called LibCal Seats is now available to students to reserve a seat in a lab, a study space, or to schedule specialty equipment such as computers, printers, drawing easels, etc. Some academic spaces are only available to students in a specific program, and instructors will share information regarding how students can reserve a spot in those locations. There are also several public spaces that can be reserved, and students can visit this page to find a link to LibCal Seats as well as directions on reserving a spot.
Q: As students are beginning to be quarantined, we are being separated from the art supplies and tools we may need to complete our work. Could they be delivered to me in my dorm room?
A. We have set up a procedure for this. Supplies can be brought to the Housing Office at 170 Price Commons in a sealed box with the student’s name clearly printed/written on it. Housing will deliver it to the student with the traditional package and meal deliveries throughout the day. Please understand that instructors, friends, or other students may not deliver items directly to the student’s door. This may delay slightly the receipt of items, but it is the safer option to reduce traffic flow on these floors.
