As we approach winter, we want to remind students of the university’s approach to inclement weather. Due to the number of students who live near and on campus, classes are rarely cancelled due to weather conditions; however, students should use their best judgement about traveling to and from the university and notify their instructors if they are not able to attend classes. Students can review UW-Stout's class attendance policy, if classes are missed. If instructors are unable to travel to the university, students will be notified about any changes in class schedules or delivery method, and how related coursework can be completed.
In rare circumstances, the university may suspend classes due to inclement weather; however, all other operations at the university will continue. If classes are impacted, students will be notified via email and updates on the status of campus operations will be available on StoutCloud, the university’s main Facebook channel, and through Chippewa Valley and the Twin Cities media sources.
