As we honor Day of Silence, the Involvement Center invites you to join us in the giant ball pit in front of the Involvement Center. Students have the opportunity to get into the ball pit and spend as much time as they would like. You can also search for a ball containing an affirmation that you get to keep.
This is a silent event, so no talking will take place. It will be imperative that folks read the instruction on the QR code in order to participate thoroughly in this event.
We hope to see you there!
My Silence, My Action. The Day of Silence is a national student-led demonstration where LGBTQIA+ students and allies all around the country—and the world—take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQIA+ people in schools. This year, the Qube is doing Day of Silence a little differently.
Started in the mid 90’s by two college students, the Day of Silence has expanded to reach hundreds of thousands of students each year. Every April, students go through the school day without speaking, ending the day with Breaking the Silence rallies and events to share their experiences during the protest and bring attention to ways their schools and communities can become more inclusive.
The Qube invites you to take action and join our in-person Safe Space Training session. This 2-hour session will offer discussions and activities to help you learn about the best practices, opportunities, and resources to improve your understanding of and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Join the Qube for our monthly Brown Bag Lunch & Learn! April's topic is "Non-Monogamy: What's That All About?" which will discuss the types of non-monogamy, basic rules for practicing non-monogamy, how to bring up or start a non-monogamous relationship, and more. This is a combined learning and eating session for participants in a casual environment that encourages discussion and learning. "Brown Bag" refers to a lunchtime talk where participants bring their own food, so remember to pack a lunch! We will be meeting from 12-1pm in PRCM Cranberry Creek.
Join the Qube for our biweekly Tabling Tuesdays event! Stop by our table on the MSC 1st Floor from 11am-1pm to pick up information and resources for Lesbian Visibility Day, which is observed annually on April 26th!
Blue Devil Productions is proud to bring stand-up comedian Tommy Ryman to campus! This is a free show that will be held in the MSC Great Hall on April 14th at 8 pm.
Tommy Ryman, a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, is an acclaimed comedian. His oddly-adorable stand-up landed him No. 2 on iTunes comedy charts for his album Having the Time of My Life. Named Best of the Midwest at Gilda;s Laugh Fest, Tommy grew up in Minnesota jamming on clarinet for his new-age mom and kale-chip-making dad. He performs at top clubs, colleges, and festivals across the nation including the Great American Comedy Festival.
Join the Qube for hot chocolate every Wednesday from 10AM-1PM. Stop by for a cup of hot chocolate, to take a study break, or hang out in our back lounge.
