Preparing for your first job after graduation takes careful planning to acknowledge your
strengths, weaknesses, and prior knowledge in order to determine how to show up for
yourself and others in your workplace. The purpose of this workshop is to learn how to
assess strengths, weaknesses, and prior knowledge in the workplace after 1 week, 1 month 6 months, and 1 year on the job. Through assessing these metacognitive systems, employees will be able to engage in self-regulation, advocacy, and monitoring their progress towards their career objectives in the first year.

You will leave the workshop with concrete materials to implement these self-assessments
and determine what next steps to take to support your well-being, identify what learning
objectives are vital for your continued success, and how to discuss receiving support from a
manager/supervisor to ensure continued progress towards career goals.
