Hello Natural Areas Club!

The local conservation group The Prairie Enthusiasts' Chippewa Savanna Chapter will be holding a work party this Saturday (October 1st) from 1PM-4 at their Dobbs Landing site near Colfax. This is a great opportunity to gain some experience working on conservation projects while also volunteering to help the environment and getting to know people.

Any amount of prior experience is welcome. We'll be working on collecting any seed that is ready, preparing the jack pine stand at the northern end of the planted prairie for a spring prescribed burn (cleaning up down fuel and limbing up trees), and working on removing buckthorn and honeysuckle in the northern floodplain forest.

Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle. We'll provide snacks, gloves, and any tools necessary.

Meet in the parking lot at 1pm. If you arrive late, you can walk north along the gravel road beyond the gate to join up with us, directions can be found here: https://www.theprairieenthusiasts.org/cssites
