IGDA | M+DEV Trip!!!

Join the IGDA executives on a special trip to M+DEV, Madison's annual game developers conference! Information about the trip and the conference are included below and will be covered in person at an informational meeting at the beginning of the school year. Please be aware that trip updates are subject to change and will be announced at IGDA meetings as they occur. Registration for this event is open starting August 1st until midnight on November 2nd. ***DO NOT REGISTER BEFORE READING THROUGH ALL THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION!!!***

First and foremost, there are only so many available tickets for students to attend this event with us. These tickets will be raffled off at random during one of our IGDA meetings to those who are eligible to go. In order to be considered eligible, students MUST do the following:
1) Register to this event/sign the event waiver here on Connect
2) Attend AT LEAST HALF of our semester meetings, INCLUDING the initial informational meeting about this trip

Secondly, tickets do NOT come completely free for students: only $50 of the ticket price will be covered by our club funds, meaning students will be in charge of paying for the remaining $50 THEMSELVES, in order to attend the conference (total ticket cost of $100). However, we will have ongoing fundraising taking place throughout the semester to help students lower this cost.

The plan is to carpool to Madison on Thursday, November 9th with an estimated departure time of 1:00 PM. After arriving in Madison, we'll check into a hotel, where we'll be spending the next two nights, should funds allow. Friday will be spent entirely at the conference, which runs from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday we'll carpool home with an estimated arrival time of 2:00 PM.

***IMPORTANT NOTE:***
If students find themselves unable to attend after receiving their ticket, they MUST notify the executives within 72 hours of the trip so that their ticket can be given to someone else on the waiting list. Any cancellations made less than 72 hours before the trip or no shows on the day of the trip will be subject to a $50.00 fee to pay back the club for the unused ticket. The waiver attached states these terms and MUST be signed before registration.

Reminder that those who do not register to this event are ineligible to attend with the group and will not be considered during the raffling of tickets. Students may decide to attend independently, however, and are certainly not excluded from purchasing their own tickets, hotel rooms, etc.
