The American Fisheries Society seeks to:
a) Educate the general student body and community about local fish, fisheries management, invasive organisms, and conservation.
b) Cooperate with local private and public organizations to further enhance fisheries in surrounding water- bodies.
c) Train members in fish identification, boat operation, survey techniques, and other fisheries related experience.
d) Increase member accessibility to research and job opportunities.

The benefit to being apart of AFS is that you are part of a larger Nationally recognized organization; the Wisconsin Chapter of American Fisheries Society. The American Foundry Society is an student organization that helps its club members with foundry knowledge and industry connections. Another important part of the club is the annual foundry tour and also two $1,000 scholarships awarded to it's members. Anybody from school can go on the tours. In our meeings we discuss club topics and then mold and pour aluminum castings.

The American Foundry Society is the leading U.S. based metalcasting society that assists member companies (metalcasting facilities, diecasters and industry suppliers) and individuals to effectively manage all production operations, profitably market their products and services and to equitably manage their employees. The American Foundry Society also promotes the interests of the metalcasting industry before the legislative and executive branches of the federal government. With the direction of its volunteer committee structure, the professional staff of the American Foundry Society provides support in the areas of technology, management and education to further activities that will enhance the economic progress of the metalcasting industry.

Membership Benefits
AFS Stout members will have access to all events and related workshops. Students that pay dues to the professional American Foundry Society become eligible to apply for two $1,000 scholarships through the UW-Stout Foundation. We invite students to participate in our foundry tours, casting workshops, and guest speaker events.

UW-Stout Panhellenic Council (also known as Panhellenic) is the our university's chapter of the National Panhellenic Conference. The National Panhellenic Conference consists of twenty-six sororities. Our campus has three of those sororities: Alpha Phi and Delta Zeta. Panhellenic provides opportunities for the women of these sororities to get together and create bonds of sisterhood through activities relating to service/philanthropy, academics, and fundraising. Panhellenic is responsible for facilitating Formal Recruitment each September and Continuous Open Recruitment/Bidding throughout the rest of the academic year. Fall Formal Recruitment is a series of events when potential members meet and ultimately join Alpha Phi or Delta Zeta.

The UW-Stout Food Science Club is a group of food enthusiasts that are curious about the science behind our food, the group is NOT limited to food science majors and welcomes anyone who is interested. They stay involved in the local community through volunteer events and food industry tours. During past events, they've toured a maple syrup farm, different breweries and creamery tours. They also attend social networking events and presentations hosted by IFT- Minnesota. Meetings are held every two weeks, on Wednesdays. Meeting times may change due to COVID-19. The meetings involve out of classroom experiments and learning, subjects include: sensory testing, fermentation, pickling, candy, cheese making, baking and experimenting with wild yeast. One goal of the group is to expand their knowledge and involvement while networking within the food science field.

The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) is the world's oldest, largest, member-driven society for product design, industrial design, interaction design, human factors, ergonomics, design research, design management, universal design and related design fields. IDSA organizes the renowned International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) competition annually; hosts the International Design Conference and five regional conferences each year; and publishes Innovation, a quarterly on design, and designBytes, a weekly e-newsletter highlighting the latest headlines in the design world. IDSA's charitable arm, the Design Foundation, supports the dissemination of undergraduate scholarships annually to further industrial design education.

The Society has an international presence with 27 local chapters in 27 different locations, all providing opportunities to meet other designers, learn and get inspired. There are 15 special interest groups representing diverse topics from Design for the Majority to Materials and Processes, Ecodesign to Young Professionals. IDSA has roots that reach all the way back to 1938, before the age of plastics and at least 30 years before the age of electronics!

Pepper Magazine exists to involve students in journalism, design, and publishing. We want to encourage all students to partake in a biannual publication focused on free thought and artistic expression and the creative process. Pepper publications do not center on current events or news but focus more on ideas of culture, society, and the arts.

Students are encouraged to engage in the production of content for each publication. Ranging from creative writing, opinion articles, graphics, photography, visual arts, sculpture – all are accepted to publications created by Pepper Magazine. The only limitation is that their content must fit within the theme chosen for every semester.

Pepper Magazine serves as a meeting point where students can share culture and interests with one another and while increasing awareness of art and design to the community. This is a club that opens doors to students from any field of study so that we can continue to cultivate a range of ideas and perspectives.

Members in our UW-Stout SAE Baja chapter design and construct a vehicle within the SAE International specifications, using the manufacturing and designing skills acquired in class with emphasis on teamwork in a constructive engineering environment. The team goal is to have our older team members guide and mentor the newer members, so that old mistakes remain in the past, while not overlooking new or unusual ideas these young minds might have. We seek to create an open and comfortable environment that will help our club grow stronger as a team. The end goal is to have our new car finish all of the events at the international race. The goal for the new car is to finish in the top 20 overall. This will establish UW-Stout as one of the elite teams in the region and put us on the national map for engineering.

We encourage a well-rounded background of study in the humanities, sciences, and graphic communications. We also encourage work under professional guidance of the staff and faculty of the Graphic Communications program and we offer an opportunity for leadership training.

Members who join STS learn about how to work in an industry standard environment. As a bonus for being a part of STS every second semester we take a 3 day business trip that allows members to tour 10-12 different companies and market themselves to employers. Learn how to dance with the Stout Swing Club! Stout Swing Club offers weekly student or professionally taught lessons followed by open dancing. We host a variety of events and styles of dance throughout the year: East coast swing, waltz, latin dances, lindy hop, and more! This is a great opportunity to show off the moves you have learned. We accommodate all skill levels from beginner to advanced. No partner is necessary, and as always, Swing Club is free!

Membership Benefits
Benefits include a fun social event every week that facilitates meeting new people and making long lasting friendships, and learning a fun new skill! Members learn how to swing dance, starting at the very basic moves all the way to aerials, as well as Latin dances and Lindy hop. Our club is free, and members are never forced to come to any of our events. We stress the importance of having a flexible club that allows you to put school first and come when you can!

The UW-Stout Waterski Team is a group of Stout Students who actively participate in the sports of waterskiing and wakeboarding. We participate in all events of waterskiing including slalom, trick, jump, wakeboarding, surf, and barefoot. This club is open to Stout students of all abilities from those who have never skied before to expert tournament skiers. We compete in collegiate tournament events with other schools throughout the Midwest. Although competing is not a requirement for membership, everyone is welcome to come along to ski or just hang out. Our club practices on Lake Menomin, right here in Menomonie at members' convenience multiple times a week and have been known to ski late into the year as far as December. We own our own boat, jump, and slalom course and have equipment of all kinds for use by our members. If you are new to waterskiing or a certain type of waterskiing this is a great opportunity for you to learn! We have members who are very knowledgeable and skilled in all types of skiing who can teach you with all the necessary equipment! This is a great opportunity for you to learn, improve, compete and most importantly have fun!

Mission
We are a fun and competitive sport club that welcomes anyone who is interested in playing volleyball. The club plays in tournaments both in the fall and spring semesters. We travel to schools in the Wisconsin and Minnesota area that are hosting weekend tournaments. We hold practice during the school year on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays from 9-11pm in the Johnson Fieldhouse.
