Events over the past few months have revived discussions about violent protest. Is it a valid tactic? Is it just, and is it effective? We'll explore that very topic through the lens of queer history. We'll share the story of the Stonewall Inn and the lesser-known Tenderloin/Compton's Cafeteria transgender uprising, what they meant for the queer movement, and what that has to do with current events. The presentation will be followed by a guided discussion for participants to explore these topics together.

We are capped at 14 in-person attendees for this event. We plan to livestream the presentation on the Qube's Facebook page.

Q Talks are an educational event where attendees take a deep dive into a topic through a speaker or presentation.

The Qube would like to thank UW-Stout Multicultural Student Services for contributing time and ideas to this event.
