Don't forget your Talking Points

As you are preparing for our upcoming Honors Colloquium on Oct 7th, don't forget to generate your talking points for the evening.

Take a look at the instructions and prompts on our HON Stout Cloud page for guidelines on creating your talking points.

If you haven't already signed up for your Colloquium session, follow the link at the end of this email.  The 7-9pm session is almost at capacity

HON Partner Program: McNair

Are you thinking about pursuing Graduate school?  The McNair scholars program might be a good fit for you!

The McNair program is a support system for undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds to help prepare for graduate school.  Each McNair student receives individual support from staff in preparing, conducting, and completing research; identifying and applying to graduate programs; and finding funding for graduate school.

Along with individualized support, Honors students will also receive one honors point for participating in the program.  And many Honors students also find a way to combine their McNair research with their Honors project.

Learn more about the McNair Scholars Program and find out if you are eligible to apply.

Join us for four free discussion dinners! At a time at which political division and polarization is at its height, the aim of these dinners is to have fun and stimulating conversations on controversial moral and political issues with other students, all while sharing dinner together.

The dates of the four dinners are:

October 6, 2025 @ 7:00-8:30pm
November 5, 2025 @ 7:00-8:30pm
February 9, 2026 @ 7:00-8:30pm
March 4, 2026 @ 7:00-8:30pm

Students who apply and are accepted will be expected to attend all four dinners (at no cost to them!). We are looking for 40-60 students to enjoy dinner with us. Each table will be have a faculty facilitator.

This opportunity is made possible through the grant "Enhancing Campus Culture: Free Expression and Civil Discourse," generously provided by the Wisconsin Institute for Citizenship and Civil Dialogue and the Menard Center for the Study of Institutions and Innovations.

We will be sending emails to confirm whether applicants have been accepted into the dinners. If you have difficulty accessing the link, please email Xan Bozzo (bozzoa@uwstout.edu).
