The Philosophers' Café is a public forum in which community members discuss interesting contemporary issues in a relaxed and informal setting. Keiko Morikawa (Japan Outreach Initiative Coordinator, UW-Stout Polytechnic) will lead the discussion. Here is the abstract:

We will explore the meaning of peace through the story of Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who was exposed to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 and became a symbol of hope and peace. Participants will learn about Sadako’s story and reflect on how we remember the past and work toward a more peaceful future. Through the conversations, we will consider what peace means to each of us and how we can contribute to peace.

Join us for some fun discussion! Everyone is welcome!
