Details
Avigdor Edminster will present chapters in history of LGBTQ+ social movements with a focus on direct action in the US. He will also explain nonviolent direct action from a Kingian perspective.
About Avigdor:
Avigdor is a cultural anthropologist who focuses on the contemporary United States. He has a PhD in cultural anthropology and an MA in Historical Studies. In addition to Avigdor's academic life and years of teaching, he also founded an educational advocacy program for marginalized youth while working as an advocate for youth at the historic LGBTQ+ youth center, District 202, in Minneapolis. Avigdor trained in Kingian nonviolence at the Selma Center for Nonviolence and Reconciliation with renowned civil rights activists including Bernard Lafayette.
