Each year, SCO's main event is for members to attend the Annual WSCA (Wisconsin School Counselor Association) Conference in February. Traveling to the Dells for three days and Conference Pre-Registration are required for event attendance. WSCA serves all three of our pillars of the school counseling organization: professional development, volunteerism/community involvement, and social networking. This event benefits members immensely in the area of professional development through attendance to keynote speakers and breakout sessions which provide invaluable information about skills, techniques, programming, technology, and resources to use in the school counseling field; in addition, WSCA also helps our members to network and socialize through networking events with professionals in the field and an amazing opportunity to meet with legislators and speak about/advocate for our future profession. WSCA also highly encourages volunteering for graduate students at the event, highlighting our pillar of volunteering/community involvement. WSCA truly gives us the chance to represent UW-Stout and the M.S. School Counseling Program, which provides the profession with well-prepared, enthusiastic, and dedicated school counselors.
