The Student Technology Committee is the standing committee of the University Student Senate tasked with collaborating with the Chief Information Officer to provide recommendations to the University Student Senate and the Chancellor on how to allocate the Student Technology Fee, a 2.5% tuition surcharge. In addition to managing the allocation of the Student Technology Fee, the Student Technology Committee also promotes access to technology and technological innovation at the UW-Stout campus and promotes sensible policies that addresses privacy and security concerns for the university. 

The Student Technology Committee is chaired by the Director of Information Technology and is comprised of senators of the Stout Student Association and students at-large. The Student Technology Committee is advised by Chief Information Officer Sue Traxler and Campus Card Office Director Grady Richartz.
