Join us as we work to reclaim Galloway Creek, an urban stream that runs through the heart of Menomonie, only a couple blocks away from campus.
Last time we had nearly 30 individuals show-up, ready to collect litter, haul out large objects, and remove invasive species. After all was said and done, the event was a huge success, and you can see what we removed in the attached images.
Our goal this time is to finish cutting the trail we started last event and connect it to an area cleared out by the Menomonie High School students. This will be the first trail installment of the Galloway Creek Reclamation Project.
Those who wish to participate can meet event organizers by the north-west corner of the UW-Stout football stadium (like last time). At 4:30, we'll walk ~2 blocks to the part of the creek that we'll be working on (it'll be the same location). All necessary equipment will be provided for the invasive removal, and we'll still have a handful of muck-boots and trash collecting items available for those who wish to continue our efforts with some light trash removal.
Any questions? E-mail Jonesc1191@my.uwstout.edu for more information!
