The Colfax Red Cedar Preserve & Rec Area- formerly known as the "Ferry Pit"- is one of the few off campus nature preserves that NAC regularly maintains. The once degraded gravel-pit turned trash dump is now being converted to a park for all to enjoy!
We would like to kick-off this year by clearing out some picnic areas and carving a new snowshoe trail along the pond. Please wear outdoor work clothes and sturdy shoes, similar to what was worn during the Galloway Creek Cleanup event. We will have water and snacks available- but we ask that participants bring their own water bottle to reduce plastic waste.
The workshop will take place on Saturday Sept. 25th starting @ 1:00 PM. and will run till 4:00 PM (We budget roughly 1 hour for snacks and relaxing and 3 hours for work)
There are a limited number of seats are available for those who need a ride to and from the event. Please email the event coordinator ahead of time so that arrangements can be made.
