Involvement in a student org can be tricky. Leading that organization comes with its own unique set of hurdles. What if your group is ready for a revamp? How can you drum up membership? When do you incorporate when next generation of leaders? I'll provide my insight and experience on these and other topics, as I discuss my time leading a college television station.

As a student org member or leader, you have gained valuable experience and developed important skills. In this workshop, you will learn how to showcase your student org involvement to employers. Attendees will leave with quick and easy-to-implement tips and tricks.

How do you know why your group is doing well? How do you know what is next? How can you find out how to fix if your group is not doing so hot. Learn SWOT analysis and other tools to effectively reflect and lead your team with progress in mind.

Find out tips for making your application more successful. In this session you'll get the basic information on funding guidelines, creating a request in CONNECT, and describing your events in a way that makes your funding more likely.

You're a brand new leader and are looking for more information about what it means to be in your current role. So you've picked a date/time and have a great activity for you event – event planning done, right?┬á Not so fast.┬á Event 101 will walk you through the details such as possible room set-ups, permits, weather plans, parking and other fine details you'll need to plan a successful, campus wide event.┬á This session is targeted to first time large scale event planners or someone looking to plan an event.┬á

Learn about leadership theory and how it can help you manage your student organization. This session will focus on Skills Based Leadership theory, which is how skills and knowledge play a role in leadership along with Path-Goal Theory and Team Leadership theory, which focus on how to help your followers as individuals and as a team. Attendees will take personal assessments that will help them discover strengths and improvements pertaining to the different theories. 

Being a President of an organization is a big responsibility that has great rewards, but great challenges at the same time. Meet up with other organization presidents in a casual atmosphere to share best practices for managing your org, dish out advice for handling situations and discuss strategies for making the most out of your leadership experience.
